In the Name of God; Amen
This first day of July one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine. The last Will and Testament of me JOHN SCOTT of Ballycolman Parish of Urney and County of Tyrone who being sick and weak of body yet of perfect mind and memory [thanks to God for the same] and calling to mind the mortality of my body do make and appoint this my last Will and Testament Principally and fist of all I give my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in such manner as my Executors shall think fit and I touching such worldly effects as it hath pleased the Lord to bless me with I order and dispose of them in the following manner To my dearly beloved Brother WILLIAM SCOTT I leave the house that I have in Strabane with one third of whatever Cash or Property I have in the Stocks and in my Agents hands also my Mare watch and wearing apparel To my dearly beloved Sister SARAH SCOTT I leave one third of what Cash or Property I have in the Stocks or in my Agents hands Likewise the other one third to my Sister ELINOR SCOTT of same Stocks and what is in my Agents hands. To my dearly beloved Sister JANE CUTHBERTSON I bequeath the sum of Fifty pounds Likewise to my Sister NANCY RAMSAY the sum of Fifty pounds likewise to my Sister MARY GILFILLAN the sum of Fifty pounds and to my Sister MARGARET PATTON the like sum of Fifty pounds and to my dearly beloved Brother ROBT. SCOTT the like sum of Fifty pounds for his generosity in giving the one half of the Turf Bogg to his Mother during the present Lease Likewise to my Nephew WILLIAM CUTHBERTSON the sum of thirty Guineas and what remains of Cash and Bonds I leave to my dearly beloved Mother to dispose of as she shall think proper she paying all and Funeral Expenses and I do hereby constitute and appoint ROBT. MITCHELL mercht. of Strabane and ROBERT CUTHBERTSON of Ballycolman to be my sole and lawful Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke disallow and disannul all former Will or Wills Testament or Testaments and so do constitute and appoint this and this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand this year and day above written – JOHN SCOTT – Seal’d. This Will was proved at London the ninth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine before the Right Honourable Sir WILLIAM WYNNE Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of ROBERT MITCHELL and ROBERT CUTHBERTSON the Executors named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the Deceased having first sworn (by Commission) Duly to administer
