  • Notes
    • Mamie was always busy with church activities or with her sewing. Mamie's husband, Joe Duane, was born 11 May, 1897 and died 27 August, 1986. He had spent 60 years living at the Cronin family homestead, first on 94 Good Avenue, and later when it was moved to 71 Spaulding. Both Mamie and Joe are buried at Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna, NY.

Joe Duane had a brother William, and two sisters, Margaret and Rose Ann. Joe's brother was a coffee merchant. He died young in 1942, having a
curvature of the spine. Margaret, born Apr 1893/94, never married, but worked as a housekeeper in California. She got acquainted with the
Lennon family, and even use to baby sit the Lennon Sisters, who later regularly appeared on the Lawrence Welk Music Show in the 1950s and 60s.
Margaret returned to Buffalo after becoming ill, July or August of 1955, and died of cancer 13 Oct, 1957, at Our Lady Of Victory Hospital,
Lackawanna. She was buried at Mt. Calvary in Cheektowaga, NY. Rose, born 01 May, 1894, left Buffalo for Florida, where she met her husband,
Vincent Giordano, a wealthy farmer. They lived in Delray Beach. Vincent died of a heart attack the day before Thanksgiving in 1954 while
shopping at a local hardware store. Rose returned to Buffalo in the spring of 1967, staying with Joe and Mamie. By 1968, it was discovered
that Rose had Parkinsons Disease. She died 29 June, 1976, and is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna, NY.
