  	Alice and Mason eloped one evening when they were supposed to be at a dance, running off to Crown Point, Indiana, to marry. In the 1920 census, Alice, Mason, and their only child, Madeline, were living in the Harrison home at 832 West 47th Place, Chicago. Soon after Madeline was born, Alice divorced Mason, mostly due to conflicts in religion. Not only was he a Jew, but he was also verbally anti-Catholic, and Alice felt like she couldn't raise Madeline in that environment. In her later years, Alice worked at Marshall Field's in Women's Underwear department, well beyond normal retirement age. Eventually, she become the oldest resident in a minimal care home near Tinley Park, IL. However, her last five years was spent in a nursing home where she eventually died at 97 1/2 years.
