  	The marriage certificate of James and Catherine have them living in Nankin, Michigan. The 1880 city directory and census list James and Catherine living at 241 20th Street, Chicago. It is unknown if Catherine died around 1880-1881, after the birth of Pearse, as there is no record of her death. James remarried in June 7, 1882, and had the children living with him.

  	James Forden was born in Canada, probably in Toronto, coming from an English father and Irish mother. He came to the U.S. in 1875, when he was 25 years old. Jane's family immigrated to the U.S. in 1855, when she was about four years old. Her family settled in Crete, Illinois. James and Jane were married by the Justice of Peace, Chicago. James is listed in the 1892 Chicago Voter Registration as living at 4107 Ashland Avenue, then a residence of Chicago 20 years and of that house for four years. James Forden drove a team of six horses for a beer company. The 1900 census lists his occupation as a teamster. In 1900, he and Jane, and Olive (daughter from his first marriage), and sons George and Charles, lived at 833 West 47th Place (near 47th and Ashland). Jane continued to live there until her death in 1852. James and Jane are buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, at 11150 South Fairfield Avenue, Chicago, IL 60655 (just south of Mt. Olivet cemetery), Lot 175, section 3. Nine people are buried there: James and Jane, James three sons from an eariler marriage (Joseph, William J., and Pearse), James' grandson Harry Hanney Jr., and the son, son's wife, and grandson of James and Jane (George R., Lillian, and George, respectively). There is one stone for George R. Forden, "Father - 1883-1917", at this site.
