Blommen, another of the older native-born residents of DuBois and a woman held in high respect by a wide circle of friends and neighbors, died at her home at 74 Spring Avenue at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, at the result of complications. She was in her sixty-seventh year, having been born in DuBois on February 24, 1876, within a year of the time the community was incorporated as a borough. She was the daughter of John and Anna Samuelson Anderson, early residents of the community, and resided her entire life in DuBois. She was well known as "Ma Blommen", because of her kindness to those in trouble and her geniality. Her husband died some years ago. She is survived by two sons, Gust and Emil, of DuBois; and three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Iddings and Mrs. Eva Heberling, of DuBois; and Mrs. Martha King, of Rochester, N. Y. Ten grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Mandus Nelson and Mrs. Charles Olson, of DuBois, also survive. Funeral services will be held at the bereaved home on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Ebert Turnquist, of the Bethany Covenant Church, of which she was a member, officiating, asssisted by Rev. J. A. Lyons, of the First Methodist Church and burial will be made in the Rumbarger Cemetery.
