November 18 1853 [Died] On Saturday, the 12th inst., in Harrington Street, Dublin, after a tedious illness, John Smyth Hyndman, Esq., aged 62 years. Deceased was formerly a resident of this City; having held an official situation for many years in the Post Office (Londonderry Sentinel)
April 14 1854 [Died] On the 31st ult., in his 88th year, John Dickey, Esq., of Cullybackey. His ancestors were from Ayrshire, John Dicke or Dickie, married a daughter of Hyndman of Myroe, county Derry, a sister of Captain Hyndman, officer of the guard, who fired the first shot on the Earl of Antrim’s Regiment, December 1688, on the closing of the gates of Derry. This John Dickie, was considered too old to fight at the siege, but his house at Ballymulley, near the Roe Water, was burned by the retreating army of James (Londonderry Sentinel)

March 6 1841 [Died] On Thursday, 11th ult., at his house, 1 Alpha Cottage, Hammersmith, London, in the 62nd year of his age, William Hyndman, Surgeon, R. N. He was a native of Magheracolton, near Newtownstewart. He joined the fleet in 1804, and was in active service at Buenos Ayres and Monte Video, and in 1808 in Spain.
