He was a great grandson of the gallant trooper, John Hunter, of Maghera, who so highly distinguished himself at the Siege of Derry. His eldest son, the Rev. JosephHunter is in the ministry in Belfast, the second son Mr. James Hunter, has a respectable school in Drogheda, and his sorrowing widow and daughters remain in the family home (Londonderry Sentinel)
