Farming on the Donaghy farm at Ballyskeagh, Leckpatrick Parish, Co Tyrone about 1910. Here they are reaping and stooking a grain crop. Operating the reaper are my grandfather John James Donaghy (1862-1916) (left) and my great- grandfather Robert Fulton (1842-1920). The children are Robert Donaghy (in front of horse) Richard Donaghy, Samuel Donaghy (1907-1978), my father (behind dog) and Elsie Donaghy. It is not known who the man and two women on the right are, but possibly the women are daughters of Robert Fulton. On 3 Dec 1902 J.J. Donaghy purchased at auction the 46 acre farm at Ballyskeagh for £1175. Then on the 22 Dec 1902 sold his Ballylaw farm of 35 acres for £535. In June 2001 I visited the Ballyskeagh farm, which no longer belongs in the Donaghy family, and was shown the reaper featured in this photo. Although overgrown with weeds, having been retired many years ago, it still appears to be in fairly good condition.
