A woman named BOYLE had died suddenly, and the coroner, accompanied by a jury and two policeman went to hold an inquest. The husband, JOHN BOYLE, armed with a gun, and his three sons furnished with other weapons, hunted the jury from the house, and threatened the coroner and police with violence. The officials had to withdraw without holding the inquest. Further steps were, it was understood, contemplated by the authorities |

The deceased was fully 6ft 2in in height, of powerful physique, and during all his life was possessed of excellent health. He was a non-smoker, of temperate habits and lived on strong, coarse diet. Up to the last he was in full possession of all his mental and bodily faculties, and in March last came into the town and recorded his vote at the County Council election |
