Masonic Lodge No 633, Ballymagorry, Strabane, Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland & Its Successors; List of Members 1784-1832

Warrant Issued July 1, 1784 and subsequently cancelled sometime post 1806 and transferred to Killymallaght Townland, Clondermot Parish, Co. Londonderry and in 1826 to the WATERSIDE OF THE CITY OF DERRY, also in Co. Londonderry.

The membership of Lodge No. 633 meeting at Ballymagorry would have been drawn from the parishes of Leckpatrick and Donagheady. Following transferral to Killymallaght, additional members would have also been drawn from the Co. Londonderry parishes of Clondermot and Cumber. Meetings were generally held on the night of a full moon allowing for safe travel on horseback in an era of poor quality roads.

Lodge 633 relocated to the Waterside of Derry in 1826. A most interesting record of this event and names of the original membership has survived in the archives of the Grand Lodge of A. F. & A. Masons of Ireland, Grand Secretary's Office, Freemasons Hall, 17 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2, Ireland.

I inclose one pound to you for gran Lodge Dues and to have Bd. Thomas Lamon put on the Regestray, our Lodge is Removed from Killymallaugh to the waterside of Londonderry to the House of My Son Hamilton Mitchell as He is gon ther to Live. I am at present in the office of Master the Wardens is fond the same Mitchell Lowery and Hamilton Mitchell past Master. The Members as follows Thos Brown, Major Brown, Wm Adams, Robt. Nixon, David McLucas, Jas. Hutchason, David Longwell, Michal Rordan, Edwart Harsha, Samuel Hustan, Jas. Kennedy, William Menteeth, John Nellas, Patrick Brown And Alexr. McBride.
