TUNNEY [Died]] On Wednesday evening, at Kilcar, Diocese of Raphoe, after a few days’ illness, the Rev. Maurice Tunney, R.C.C., in his 30th year, deeply and universally regretted. The reverend gentleman officiated the previous Sunday in the Parish Chapel, in his usual good health. His was a short career, and his premature death has filled his friends with sorrow upon the melancholy intelligence came suddenly and unexpectedly. The reverend Mr. Tunney was a young clergyman of promising talents, uncompromising principle, and very zealous in the discharge of his duties. His remains were interred on Friday, in the family cemetery near Ballyshannon, attended by a large and very respectable funeral – a strong testimony of the estimation in which his character was held. “Requiescat in pace” (Londonderry Journal)
