DUNGANNON QUARTER SESSIONS

These sessions commenced on the 11th instant, before the Worshipful Richard Nun, Esq., Q.C., assistant barrister, and the immense number of civil bills, ejectments, and crown cases for trial occupies the court nearly a fortnight. The following is the rule of the court: -

John Moghan larceny; to be imprisoned 12 months, with hard labour
Michael Kelly cow stealing; to be imprisoned 12 months with hard labour
Alexander Burrows larceny; to be imprisoned 12 months with hard labour
Mary McGill larceny; to be imprisoned 4 months with hard labour
Eliza Jane Johnston larceny; to be imprisoned 1 week
Alice McGurk larceny; like sentence
Nancy Scott larceny; to be imprisoned 4 months with hard labour
Ellen Robinson larceny; to be imprisoned 3 weeks
Bessie Cranstown larceny, to be imprisoned 6 weeks
Bridget McGillian larceny; to be transported 7 years
Owen Glenn larceny; like sentence
Eliza Campbell larceny; to be imprisoned 1 month
Edward Bready larceny, to be transported 7 years
Bernard Boyle receiving stolen goods; to appear for trial at assizes
John Hurd larceny; to be imprisoned 1 month
James Loughran larceny, to be imprisoned 3 months with hard labour 1 week in each month
Henry Dobson larceny; to be imprisoned 3 months with hard labour
Robert McVey assault; to be imprisoned 4 months, to find security to keep the peace
Hugh Whittle larceny; to be imprisoned 1 week
John Devlin and Michael Mullan rescue; - submitted; to be imprisoned 1 month each
Bernard Maglone rescue; fined 6 pence
Robert Stewart larceny; to be imprisoned 2 months with hard labourer
Robert McElvenna and John McElvenna larceny; Robert to be imprisoned 3 months, with hard labour; John to be imprisoned 1 month
Wm. Rush larceny; to be imprisoned 1 calendar month
Arthur McIver riot and riotous assault; to be imprisoned 18 months, with hard labour 1 week in each month
Mary Johnston larceny; to be transported for 7 years
Bernard McGurk and Hanna McGurk larceny; and receiving stolen goods; to be imprisoned 3 calendar months with hard labour
Sarah Delap assault with intent to steal; to be imprisoned 12 months with hard labour, and to be sent to a penitentiary if practicable
James Reilly assault, with intent to steal; to be imprisoned 1 calendar month and privately whipped
William Clements larceny; to be transported for 7 years
John Cullan house breaking; to appear for trial at assizes
Jane Bentley larceny; transferred to assizes
Robert Jordan transferred for trial at assizes

We are happy to learn that the neighbourhood of Aughnacloy has become peaceable, as formerly, all outrages having ceased since the arrest of a knot of offenders, who are now in custody for trial at the coming assizes.
