Stranorlar Parish Church (St. Mary’s Church of Ireland), Stranorlar, Co. Donegal
At a special service in connection with the dedication of the memorial bell by the Lord Bishop of Derry and Raphoe in memory of the men from the parish who served in the late war, took place at the Parish Church, Stranorlar, on Friday evening. In addition to the bell, a tablet has been erected in the sacred edifice bearing the following inscription: - “The bell in this church was erected to the glory of God and in memory of the men of this parish who served in the great war, 1914-1918.”

After the dedication ceremony by the Lord Bishop, an appropriate sermon was preached by the Very Rev. R. G. S. King, M.A., (Dean of Derry). The memorial bell was rung for a period of five minutes afterwards. The Dead March in “Saul” was played and the National Anthem sung at the end of the service.
On Sunday last the dedication service in connection with the memorial bell to the memory of those who served in the late war was continued in Stranorlar Parish Church. There was a large attendance and the special preacher was the Rev. W. T. Macourt, M.A., rector of St. Augustine’s, Londonderry, who paid a glowing tribute to the fallen. The special Lessons were read by Mr. R. M. Livesey, M.I.F.S. After the singing the National Anthem, the Dead March in “Saul” was played on the organ by Mrs. H. Crawford.
