Earliest registers were destroyed in the firing of the Public Record Office, Dublin in 1922. Surviving registers remain in the custody of the local church
The present small church was erected by the second Duke of Abercorn and consecrated in 1858
Baronscourt Parish Church Blog
The condition of the original records, a degree of difficulty in discerning the handwriting, and at times, poor quality of filming make transcription challenging and wherever possible the Ardstraw tithe applotment books (1833 & 1834), Griffiths Valuation (1858) and personal announcements inserted in Londonderry newspapers have been consulted for confirmation of families and townland addresses.
