SECOND DONAGHEADY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
UNVEILING OF WAR MEMORIAL TABLET
On Sunday a special service was held in the above church. Rev. John Knowles, B.A., C.F., of Newtowncunningham [Co. Donegal], conducted the service and preached a most impressive and appropriate sermon, which was much appreciated by a large and attentive audience, in which were many members of the neighbouring church and visitors from a distance. In the presence of ex-soldiers and members of session and committee, Mr. Knowles unveiled the tablet which has been erected in the vestibule of the church. The tablet is of silveroid metal, mounted on black Kilkenny marble and has the following inscription
To the glory of God and in honoured memory of
SAMUEL MCCOURT, Mountcastle and THOMAS STEVENSON, Killyclooney
who gave their lives for their country in the great war. Also in grateful recognition of the services rendered in the war by the following members of this congregation:

Rev. Gordon D. Erskine, B.A., B.D., led in prayer and after the singing of the hymn “O God our Help” Rev. James Connell, B.A., pronounced the Benediction and the service was concluded with the National Anthem. The choir, under the leadership of Mr. R. Boyd, and augmented by friends from Derry, led the praise service most acceptably.
