During a very protracted illness which issued in death, she manifested the most calm and unclouded resignation to the disposal of her Heavenly Father. Indeed her whole life was sustained by Christian principles, and distinguished by Christian graces; and through the goodness of her Saviour, she was enabled in her last moments, to bear attestation to the blissful and sanctifying influences of those Gospel realities, which she ardently aspired to during the whole of her earthly pilgrimage, and which, we trust, she is now enjoying in the full and unfading glories of eternity. “Thanks be to God who gave her the victory through Christ Jesus her Lord” (Strabane Morning Post) |

In him were united all the good qualities that could adorn the christian. A tender parent, a loving husband, and one whose hand was always open to the call of the needy. | Sep 24 1833 | STEELE. At Stranorlar, on the 21st inst., Mrs Steele, wife of the Rev. James Steele, Presbyterian Minister of that place - leaving an afflicted husband and four children to mourn, and a large circle of friends to lament her loss. It may be truly said that in her were united, the affectionate wife, the tender mother, and the unostentatious, but sincere christian. On the morning of interment, her remains were removed to the Presbyterian meeting-house, attended by a large concourse of friends, when the Rev. Mr Mason, Missionary, delivered a most pathetic and appropriate discourse, and the Rev. Mr Dill of Donoughmore concluded the solemn service by a highly impressive and fervent prayer.
