Apr 20 1830 On Wednesday, The 14th Instant, Joseph Rolleston, of the City Of Dublin, Esq. K.C. and L.L.D. a lawyer of eminence, and the Father of the North West Bar, by every member of which he was highly regarded and respected. This estimable gentleman was born in Castlefin, in the County of Donegal, and was descended from a family of respectability long settled there. He possessed a truly benevolent disposition, and was universally esteemed for his social virtues.--- He came to Derry Circuit, but was unable to attend Court, from an Indisposition which, after confining him to bed for a few days, terminated his useful life. He was called to the Bar at Michaelmas term 1785, and during a course of long and successful practice, invariably sustained a character becoming the honourable profession to which he belonged (Strabane Morning Post)

Few were the families whose history he could not trace, and many an hour his neighbours spent listening to the stories he could relate of times and people gone past three quarters of a century since.
