Oct 8 1858 | BLAIR. On Saturday last, the 2nd inst., Minchin Lloyd, Esq., coroner, held an inquest into the death of John Blair of Tirglassan, near Cumber Claudy, aged 60 years. It appears that in the early hours of Saturday morning, the deceased accompanied by a neighbour Thomas McKinley, were on their way to Ballykelly, to see Dr. Dill, when the horse that was pulling the cart they were on bolted. Jan 8 1867 | DIVINE. An inquest was held yesterday, before Minchin Lloyd, Esq., Coroner, on the body of Thomas Divine of Alla, Upper Cumber where he resided with an only sister. The deceased in the company of another man was returning from this City to Claudy on Saturday night, when they were overtaken by the storm. They turned from their direct route and proceed along a road at Kilcatton, through a moor. His companion reached a lonely cottage and found shelter for the night, however Divine's dead body was found in the snow the next day a few yards from the public house of Mr. John McCloskey. Apr 16 1867 | HOPKINS. On Friday, Minchin Lloyd, Esq., Coroner, held an inquest at Upper Cumber, on the body of a young man, named David Hopkins. The deceased who is a son of Mr. John Hopkins, Loughash [Donagheady parish, Co. Tyrone], was in the company of several others on the Dungiven Road on carts. He was missed at Alla, and when found was lying on the ground a short distance from his horse and cart. William Allison, Esq., M. D., in evidence stated that in his opinion, the fall from the cart had fractured his skull thereby causing his death.
