Aug 3 1824 PRINGLE. On Wednesday last, in North Great George’s Street, Dublin, aged 70 years, John Pringle, Esq. of Caledon, a Magistrate of the counties of Tyrone and Armagh, and formerly of the 51st Regiment, in which he served for many years, with great credit to himself and advantage to his country as an Officer and Engineer (Strabane Morning Post)
May 1 1830 HADDOCK. On Sunday last, near Caledon, in the 95th year of her age, Mrs. Haddock, relict of the late James Haddock, Esq., of Corlaght, county Tyrone, and mother of Major Haddock of the 97th Foot, who was killed by an elephant in the Island of Ceylon in June, 1828 (Londonderry Sentinel)
Aug 14 1832 STRINGER. Coroner’s Inquest: On Monday, the 30th ult. an inquest was held by Stewart Mulligan, Esq., Coroner on the body of George Stringer of Caledon, who came by his death on the road between Killilea and Caledon. From the witnesses examined, it appeared that the deceased was thrown down by Mr. Mossman’s horse, which had ran off with him, and which he (Mossman) was not able to hold in, Drs. Cole and Simons, (the former of whom had examined the body,) were convinced that Stringer’s death was occasioned by the bursting of a blood vessel – Verdict: Accidental death (Londonderry Sentinel)
