NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that PRESENTMENT SESSIONS, previous to Lent Assizes, 1844, under 6 and 7 Wm. IV. chap. 116, and 7 Wm. Contractors are to take Notice, that the Grand Jury, at Lent Assizes, 1838, made an Order, in which they direct the Secretary of the Grand Jury not to receive any certificates for the execution of public works from the County Surveyor, or any of his assistants, subsequent to the first meeting at any of the Baronial Presentment Sessions.
Contractors, on the completion of the work for which they may have contracted, or when entitled to payment, shall give notice to the County Surveyor Ten Days at least, before the day appointed for the holding of the FIRST Presentment Sessions after the Assizes, of the intention to make application, and require of him a certificate of the due execution of such work; and such Contractors shall produce and lodge with the Secretary of the Grand Jury, an Application for payment , Ten Days at least, before the FIRST meeting of the Magistrates after of the Assizes, at which meeting all such Applications for Payment will be laid before the Magistrates and Cess payers, in the first instance, and then taken into consideration by them, and not afterwards; and Contractors are requested to observe, that unless their Applications are correctly endorsed with the number on the Warrant, and the Assizes at which the presentment was made, or the contract entered into, their Applications cannot be considered.
THURSDAY, the 7th day of DECEMBER, 1843, will be the last day for receiving Applications.
No Application for Sudden Breaches will be considered or ordered by the Grand Jury, that has notbeen lodged by the Grand Jury, that has not been lodged in the Secretary’s Office in sufficient time previous to the day on which the Grand Jury meet at the Assizes, to be inserted in the Schedule.
