Extracted from various FHL films of Civil Registration of Irish Marriages

2nd Strabane was an Anti-Burgher (Secession) congregation erected c1816, drawing many farming families from the Lifford District in Co. Donegal; no early history has survived. First and Second Strabane united in 1911 with the combined congregation worshipping in the First Church.

Surviving registers for this congregation have been microfilmed by PRONI: Baptisms: 1844-1916; Marriages 1864-94: MIC 1P/10

The condition of the original records, a degree of difficulty in discerning the handwriting, and at times, poor quality of filming make transcription challenging and wherever possible the Leckpatrick and Camus tithe applotment books (1827) and Griffiths Valuation (1858) and personal announcements inserted in Londonderry newspapers have been consulted for confirmation of families and townlands.
