On Sunday last, at Strabane, Helen, wife of Mr. George Mearns. Her funeral was attended by the Society of Odd Fellows, of which Mr. Mearns is a member, dressed in black scarves, roseates, and white gloves.

George Mearns Machine Maker Residing in No. 48 Potter Row and Helen McGill Residing in No. 2 Simon Square, both in this Parish, Daughter of James McGillFlesherin New Galloway, Wigton Shire, have been Three several times duly and regularly proclaimed in order to Marriage in the Parish Church of St Cuthberts and no objections offered.

Married on the Fifteenth day of September thereafter by the Reverend William Nisbet Minister of the Parish of New Street Canongate.

On Monday night, much regretted by numerous acquaintances, Mr Robert Mease of this town.

In this town, on the 26th instant, at the advanced age of 79 years, Andrew Mease, Esq. M. D. - In addition to a vigorous intellect, highly improved by education, he possessed all the finer sensibilities of our nature - in him were united piety without enthusiasm, charity without ostentation, and benevolence to the whole human race. He lived respected and esteemed, and died sincerely regretted.
